First kirtan rachna
(composition) by Shri Gusaiji

One day when in seva with Shri Mahaprbhuji, Shri Gusaiji was engrosed with Rajbhog Aarti. As soon as Aarti was done, Shri Gusaiji started his rendering of

a lovely Sanskrit kirtan. This was His first attempt to sing in Sanskrit.

The kirtan was:

This kirtan's lyrics and the bhava was so exotic that even Shri Nathji was pleased with the kirtan. Shri Vitthalnathji (Shri Gusaiji) was only 10 years old

Shri Gusaiji gave due place to art and music in the performance of the Divine Services (seva). He established the tradition of singing religious

kirtans--hymns in praise of the Divine Prabhu by appointing great devotee (Ashta sakhas) in V.S. 1602, Ashtasakhas comprised of the 8 poets :-

Kumbhandasji, Surdasji, Parmananddasji, Krishnadasji    -    Govind Swami, Chheetswami, Chaturbhujdasji, Nanddasji.
CONTRIBUTION OF SHRI GUSAIJI

He had assimilated his father's teaching in his life to the extent of becoming a living embodiment. He is also looked upon as one in whom the

'Gopi Bhava' type of spiritual life, the Gopi type of devotion, has been realised to the fullest extent. It was due to Shri Vitthaleshwarji, the killing of

cow was stopped.

Emperor Akbar honored him and granted him the noble title
'Goswami' which is hereditary to his descendents. He was also conferred title of

'Judge (Nyayadhish)'.

He has among his followers, rich persons, poets, artists and persons of all classes, irrespective of caste,

creed or colour.
He was strong and big enough not only to consolidate the work of Shri Vallabh but also

to expand it in every direction. He was a student of Bhagavata Purana and it moulded his mind and

heart with the highest ideals of his father. Damodardasji, the main disciple of his father, equipped Shri

Vitthalnathji with the mission before him. Shri Gusaiji was a genius of a high order. He was a great

painter, an artist, vocal singer, paakshashtri, a poet, a musician, a composer and he devoted all his gifts to

the service of God.
He laid down before himself the ideal of the Gopas and the Gopis, who were

unsophisticated, illiterate village people. He had high literary gifts. He was the representative of Hinduism.

The time when he was present was known as the
'GOLDEN AGE OF PUSHTIMARG'. Though there were number

of desciples of Gusaiji the 252 devoted desciples are very well known for their servings whose story is mentioned in the Book 'STORY OF 252

VAISHNAVS'.

Shri Gusaiji presided over the earth graciously for 72 years. He had four daughters and seven sons. The Seven sons are known as the Seven Balaks.

Shri Gusaiji gave each son Shri Thakorji or Nidhi Swaroop.

Shri Vitthalnathji daily recited Shrimad Bhagavat Dashmasakandh Patha. Shri Gusaiji used to eat only after

reading  the "Bhagvat Dasham Skandh".

The chores were very long and sometimes it was very late when he ate.
So Shri Mahaprabhuji Created

'Trividhnamavali Granth' for Shri Gusaiji
and told him that reading of this granth is same as reading

"Bhagvat Dasham Skandh".
Trividhnamavali Granth consists of 1008 names of Shri Krishna.
