Venunaad - shri Thakurji plays the sweet music on his flute which, when falls on the ears of the gopijan, makes them forget their husbands,
children, home and hearth and everything physical around them. One who's beauty is equivalent to the beauty of thousands of 'kamdev' (god
of love), when such a madan mohan prabhu, gokulendu prabhu plays on the flute filling the air with the nectar of sweet, mellifluous notes
dripping from his lips, standing on the banks of the river Yamuna, he fills the heart of each and everything animate or inanimate with a deep
sense of bliss. The gopijan could not but be exalted when the sweet notes of the flute fell on their ears making them forget everything and
they started praising the lord amongst themselves.
The effect of the 'venunaad' is so immense that the grazing cows stopped mid way through their grazing with the hay half hanging out of their
mouth and their gaze becomes fixed and their ears are raised to drink in the sweet notes of the flute through their ears. Even the calves stopped
mid-way when their mothers are nurturing them. Chirping birds fall silent and listen with rapt attention. The mischievous twinkling eyes of the
dear becomes steady and it looks with eyes filled with love and becomes focused with the thoughts of shri Krishna. The trees start dripping
sweet juices, the consort of other devtaas who are travelling through the sky could not but stare at the beauty of the lord. Such is the effect of
shri Krishna's music that all animate and inanimate things are filled with pure bliss. They forget their form and the only thing that attracts them is
the love for the lord and which in turn makes them blissfully happy.
Yamuna - Pulin Mein Raasotsav
Raas on the banks of Shri Yamunaji
Shri Mahaprabhuji has described 5 types of 'Venunaad'. They are:
1.When the left ear is bent towards the left shoulder, during venunaad or while playing the flute, such a position attracts the gopijans or women.
2.When the right ear is bent towards the right shoulder during venunaad then such a position attracts gwaal or gop or the men.
3.Venunaad when done standing in upright position then it attracts both men and the women.
4.When the left cheek is bent towards the left shoulder and the right eyes is looking upwards during venunaad then such a position attracts godly women or 'Devangana'.
5.When the right cheek is bent towards the right shoulder and the left eye is looking downwards during venunaad then the 'kanya'(women) of 'Pataal Lok' are attracted.
Shramjal - When Shri Thakurji performed the raas leela with the gopijans a lot of perspiration appeared. Since it was mixed with the
perspiration of the vraj bhakts he wondered as to where it should be kept, then he remembered that 'Shri Yamunaji' is the rightful recipient of
this ras, so Thakurji along with the vraj bhakts entered the river Shri Yamunaji. He performed the water sport ('jal kreeda') with Shri Swaminiji,
thereby granting Shri Yamunaji's wish of participating in the raas leela. This is 'Smara Shrama Jalaanubhi' in Yamunaashtak.
